The final Cinque Terre day
I ended up hanging around Riomaggiore on Sunday afternoon after everyone else went back to Florence...I wanted to paint! I did a few watercolors, and became a tourist attraction for people getting off the ferry...It was a gorgeous day once again, and I relaxed with my paints and a bottle of wine my friends left me with. I met a nice couple from Washington, and saw an octopus while wading through the water! I eventually forced myself to get on the train...I could have stayed there forever :) (and that concludes my weekend adventure! I think I need to rest this weekend...finals for the summer language program are coming up. Ciao!)
Between blue skies and bluer seas rests the verdant coastline of the Cinque Terre. Enjoy the colorful fishing villages, the outstanding food and wine, the fascinating history and vibrant culture of this corner of Italy which has always captivated the traveler. Our first impressions of the Cinque Terre remind us a lot of the Amalfi Coast, but the scenery is less dramatic in the Cinque Terre. Which shouldn't take away from the incredible coastal scenery of the Cinque Terre, it should just serve indicate how truly blown away we were by the Amalfi coast. The Cinque Terre is somewhat less touristy than the Amalfi coast, and the towns feel like they have more of a balance between tourists and locals. ---------------------------------- Gillberk
Awesome trip pics. I see you've been using My Sketchbook plus Fabien's Watercolor set. Lol. How was the academia test? When do you guys start class and everything?
Ciao John! How are you?? I have very much enjoyed using the sketcbook/watercolors, in fact I hope to go paint around Florence later today! The Accademia test was stressful...I'm so glad it's over! But we start class in 2 weeks :)
